ST1/2 specific teaching is run annually for our local trainees to introduce them to the speciality.
The aim of the ST1/2 teaching programme is to give a foundation in the essentials of O&G to those ST1/2s training in Severn, whether or not they have previous experience in O&G. It will set our expectations of our ST1/2s in terms of what they should be able to do, and where and when they should seek help, as well as introducing them to the trainers and facilities in the region.
We run Obstetric and Gynaecology specific study days twice a year, and ST1/2 Laparoscopic skills days in Spring. These are in addition to the ST1/2 obligatory courses identified in the RCOG matrix. All ST1/2 teaching run through SWOT is currently free to attend.
Please note that feedback on the study days will be collected via an online form sent out to the email address you provided at registration, and attendance certificates will be made available once your feedback has been submitted. The form will be open for 8 weeks.
ST1/2 Teaching - 22/23 Calendar
For those of you new to the deanery, everyone needs to go to 1 obstetric teaching day and 1 gynaecology teaching day (of the above dates). If possible try and do one of the days in St Micheal's and the other in Southmead but don't worry if this isn't possible with rotas! We will aim to have similar numbers of people on each of the days.
Please liaise with your rota coordinators and then email Hannah ([email protected]) or Chloe ([email protected]) to book on to the dates you'd like to do. More details will be sent out nearer the time but let us know if you have any questions in the meantime!
